Employee Benefits Administrator

Remote - Sunrise, FL

Position Summary: 

Interfaces with AlphaStaff clients and employees and other customers on benefit plan-related questions, resolves issues in a timely, professional manner. Directly supports the general benefits operations of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (S.M.E.) for an assigned book of business (BOB), explaining complex policy and coverage details in layperson terms to clients and plan participants.
  • Communicate plan changes and facilitate open enrollment for plan participants.
  • Research and respond to benefit inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with designated carrier representatives to resolve complex benefit issues such as eligibility discrepancies, claim payments, Qualified Medical Child Support Orders (QMSCO), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) administration, Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Qualifying Events (QE).
  • Troubleshoot problems and present solutions, and distribute department mail.
  • Administer ongoing ACA compliance.
  • Monitor email queue, distributing accordingly.
  • Conduct audits, and peer reviews for teammates.
  • Create client issue resolutions (C.I.R.) for BOB, when necessary.
  • Meet department and personal goals using the SMART model (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound).
  • Assist with other projects and assignments to continuously improve departmental efficiencies.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or 5 to 8 years combined work experience and education.
  • Prior payroll and benefits experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Excel/VLOOKUP.
  • Have an active 2-15 life and health license (or obtain within 1 year).
  • Ability to multitask and be highly organized with strong communication skills.

Location: Remote. Preference for candidates in south Florida.

Compensation and Perks:

  • Base salary range of $55,000 - $65,000, commensurate with experience.
