Position Summary: 

To add to the revenue growth of the MGA agency through the execution of a marketing and sales strategy that includes new PEO sales and new direct agency sales of client sponsored medical plans, along with master and open market supplemental plans.

Responsibilities: 

PEO Assisted Sales: Pre-Sale (20% of your time)

  • Internal Subject matter expert for open market client sponsored carriers and plans. This includes plan design, underwriting guidelines, paperwork requirements and the implementation process and timelines.
  • Thorough knowledge of our Supplemental & Worksite Product offerings.
  • Conduct weekly calls with assigned BDMs to review deal flow, benefits strategy and wins & losses for all assigned PEO prospects.
  • Participate in all prospect sales calls and strategy meetings for both PEO and client sponsored prospects.
  • Assist the Alphastaff Business Development Manager and MGA Underwriting Specialist with the initial data gathering for all CSP prospects.
  • Work closely with the referral broker partner, the Alphastaff Business Development Manager and the MGA Underwriting Specialist to develop a winning benefits strategy.
  • Present the benefits strategy for all client prospects during the PEO proposal presentation, via teleconference or onsite meeting.
  • Develop relationship with the prospect during pre-sale process and be the go-to for benefits strategy and questions.
  • Work with the assigned Benefits Specialist on open enrollment strategy and the open enrollment communication materials.
  • Participate in open enrollment meetings as needed.
  • Work with MGA Underwriting Specialist and assigned Benefits Specialist, along with Implementation to successfully implement the client through the hand off to Benefit Operations and MGA Account Management team.
  • Work with assigned Benefits Specialist on the open enrollment strategy and employee communication materials.
  • Participate in open enrollment meetings as needed.
  • Work with MGA Specialist and the assigned Benefits Specialist to successfully implement the client through the hand off to the Account Management team.
  • Assist with the build out of the client in the agency management software.
  • Assist with the build out of the client in Benefits Administration platform.

Direct Agency Sales: (40% of your time)

  • Development of your own individual marketing and sales plan with agreed production quotas with our premier referral partners.
  • Effectively set appointments with new MGA direct agency prospects.
  • Meet with direct agency prospects and present benefits strategy and MGA value proposition.
  • Create out of the box benefits solutions and tools as needed.
  • Work with MGA Underwriting Specialist to develop the benefits strategy prospect presentation materials.

Renewal & Retention: (25% of your time)

Assist Operations during OE with the retention of existing client base:

  • Work with UW on obtaining the data needed to market existing clients
  • Work with operations & assigned HRM to present renewal strategy & solutions
  • Assist with implementation of renewal plans for AS CSP clients (group paperwork on carrier changes, on-boarding, materials, enrollment meetings)

Marketing & Networking: (15% of your time)

  • Work with Alphastaff Business Development Managers and Market Development to leverage existing broker referral relationships.
  • Assist in the development of new broker referral relationships.
  • Assist with the development of new verticals.
  • Participate in at least one monthly industry networking event (BAHU, PBHU, etc.)
  • Attend as needed open market carrier trainings and meetings.

Qualifications:

Candidate should have the following;

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of successful sales experience at a Benefits agency or with a Benefits carrier
  • Strong Presentation and Selling Skills
  • Experience preferred with Salesforce as a CRM tool preferred
  • Experience with Agency Management Software preferred Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
